Electrifying MTA New York City
VERDEK is thrilled to announce the successful installation of multiple high-capacity pantograph chargers at one of the MTA Depots in New York City. These innovative chargers include both 150KW and 300KW units, bringing us one step closer to a greener, more sustainable future.
The pantograph down chargers, manufactured by ABB, are designed to provide fast and reliable charging for electric buses. They can deliver up to 450 kW of power in less than six minutes, allowing the buses to run for longer distances without compromising on performance. The chargers are also equipped with smart features such as remote monitoring, diagnostics, and software updates.
Verdek, as a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, was selected by the MTA as a vendor for this project. We are working closely with the MTA, ABB, and other partners to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of the chargers. We will also provide training and support for the MTA staff on how to operate and maintain the chargers.
Bus Charging at Westchester, NY
Verdek completed installation in February 2023 of six 150KW ABB DC fast chargers at the Westchester County bus depot in Valhalla NY. The County has added six all-electric Bee-Line Busses to the fleet. The busses, which are all part of the clean fleet initiative, are two 40-foot buses and four 35-foot buses. The DC fast chargers will charge the electric buses overnight and the batteries will be full and ready for the morning routes. Verdek will monitor and service the chargers for four years.
Electrifying Ithaca NY Buses
Verdek completed a bus line electrification project in Ithaca, NY, which includes installations of SEVEN Proterra 125kW charging stations alongside TCAT's new fleet of Proterra ZX5 Catalyst electric buses.
Bus Chargers at JFK Airport
with The Port Authority of New York

Verdek announced the completion of the installation of 4 DC Fast Charging stations that will charge Proterra electric buses at JFK International Airport. The Port Authority of New York will use the Proterra buses to transport passengers to their departure concourses.
The Chargepoint CPE 250 are the latest generation of DC Fast Chargers designed to deliver 62.5 KW as single stations or 125KW when 2 stations are paired together. For this installation Verdek configured the stations to work in pairs to benefit of their maximum performance.
The chargers are in the parking lot of Building 141 next to an incredibly special place, a memorial from the Twin Towers and September 11, clearly visible in on of the enclosed pictures.
